بیماری بوته میری (Damping off) و مرگ گیاهچه ناشی از گونه های مختلف ” فایتو فتورا ”  از مهمترین بیماری های محصولات گلخانه ای و جالیزی است. این قارچ در تمام مراحـل رشدی به ریشه ها و طوقـه گیـاه حمله می کنـد و سبب پژمردگی یا مرگ گیاه می شود.

کنترل:

ضدعفونی گلخانه قبل از کاشت.

زهکشی مناسب بستر کشت و مدیریت آبیاری .

ضدعفونی بذر یا نشاء .

پیکاسول (فسفیت پتاسیم) که با خاصیت قارچکشی بازخوردهای قابل توجهی از طریق آبیاری و محلولپاشی در کنترل بیماری داشته است.

Phytophthora (from Greek φυτόν (phytón), “plant” and φθορά (phthorá), “destruction”; “the plant-destroyer”) is a genus of plant-damaging oomycetes (water molds), whose member species are capable of causing enormous economic losses on crops worldwide, as well as environmental damage in natural ecosystems. The cell wall of Phytophthora is made up of cellulose. The genus was first described by Heinrich Anton de Bary in 1875. Approximately 210 species have been described, although 100–500 undiscovered Phytophthora species are estimated to exist
